Danielle and Donyn Came to Play

I get to go on vacation when family comes to visit, and Danielle and Donyn flew in last Monday. We soaked up island life with luxurious breakfasts, a lap around the island with lots of tropical stops, and a boat ride to Nevis where we lunched at an old sugar plantation and walked the paths of a botanical garden. In just the 5 days they were here, Calvin turned from baby who could crawl, to toddling boy trying to stand and walk.

A Deep Ocean Crossing

On Easter Sunday I crossed the channel from the island of Nevis to St. Kitts with a group of swimmers. It was a 2.5 mile swim with wild waves and deep fishy blue.

Sue and I were side by side. Here's a halfway photo ~ Nevis is just behind us.

Andrew and Sue's husband Kyle stayed in a kayak by our sides the whole entire way

and Calvin waited on the beach for hugs with all the cheerers at the end.

A 20 foot swell came to the island last week. The waves were so big they were unsurfable.
