Our friend Vicky is fostering this Mama and her tiny pups. They were just 11 days old when Calvin got to hold them.

Swimming Suit and Scrubs

Nevis to St. Kitts Channel Swim

We did it (again)! With a 6 foot swell and 20 mile per hour winds, the swim was a very bumpy 2.5 mile crossing. But the rainy skies cleared to sunshine, three gigantic turtles came like floating ballerinas and greeted me in the middle, and an enormous spotted eagle ray was there at the end to cheer me in. A beautiful adventure indeed.

St. Martin

On walks at night near our villa we can see St. Martin on the tip of the horizon. It's just a 15 minute hop on a plane to get there, so for mid-semester break we went on our first family vacation. We were totally charmed by the chocolate croissants, gourmet restaurants, unbelievably kind people, and mellow days in the French town of Grand Case.
